Carol Ann Sutherland
Creating a distinctive online presence for an established artist, bringing her artwork, exhibitions and story together in one place, with room to develop beyond the opening show.
The Brief
With a major solo exhibition approaching at CCA Galleries International in Jersey, artist Carol Ann Sutherland needed a website that would bring her work together in one accessible place.
The initial priority was to launch in time for the exhibition, giving visitors somewhere to explore selected artwork, learn about her background and make contact.
Beyond the exhibition, Carol Ann wanted the website to become her permanent online home, reflecting her personality without imposing a strong visual identity on an evolving body of work.

The Opportunity
Carol Ann's work has a distinctive visual language, with recurring characters, symbols and handwritten elements that tell stories across paintings, drawings and prints.
The opportunity was to reflect that individuality without competing with the artwork, while giving people discovering her through the exhibition somewhere to continue exploring her work.
The website needed to:
- Let the artwork take centre stage.
- Reflect Carol Ann's personality and artistic identity.
- Connect exhibition visitors with her wider body of work.
- Make contact straightforward and support future exhibitions.

The Website
We created a focused, image-led website that allows Carol Ann's artwork to take centre stage.
Soft neutral colours, generous space and considered typography provide a consistent setting for her work, while her signature and distinctive seal give the website a personal identity.
Selected works, exhibition information and her background are brought together in a straightforward structure, with clear contact details and links to available prints.
The website launched on 19 March 2026, in time for the exhibition's private view. A dedicated domain and printable QR code also provided a way to connect exhibition materials with her online presence.

The Evolution
The website launched with four selected artworks, providing a starting point while further exhibition material was being prepared.
As more content became available, we added additional artwork, the exhibition catalogue and a featured testimonial, giving visitors more opportunities to explore and connect with Carol Ann's work.
An artist Q&A was subsequently added to the exhibitions section, including event details and a booking link.
Each addition built on the existing website, allowing it to support new opportunities without starting again.

The Outcome
With a clear visual identity and room for new material, the website provides a foundation for sharing future work and maintaining connections beyond individual exhibitions.
